Inspection Based on Approved Specifications
Aluminium bottle quality control begins with the approved sample, technical requirements and purchase specification. Inspection should not rely on a general statement that bottles are “high quality.” The order needs measurable and visually confirmed acceptance points.
Before bulk production, the project specification should identify the bottle model, capacity, dimensions, internal coating, neck and closure, colour, printing, packing method and applicable testing requirements. The approved sample then becomes the primary production reference.
Bulk orders are checked during manufacturing and finishing rather than only after every bottle has been completed. This makes it easier to identify dimensional, coating, printing or closure issues before they affect the full order.
Incoming Material and Bottle Body Checks
Production control starts with the materials and components used for the confirmed order. Aluminium materials, coating materials, closures and packaging components are checked against the relevant order requirements before use.
After bottle-body forming and trimming, inspections focus on height, diameter, opening, shoulder profile and visible forming defects. These dimensions influence capacity, decoration alignment, closure fit and packing configuration.
Sampling frequency and acceptance criteria should be agreed according to the order specification, quantity and buyer requirements. Buyers with a formal inspection standard should provide it before production begins.
Internal Coating Inspection
The internal coating is selected around the filling product and intended packaging application. During production, checks focus on visible coating condition, coverage and consistency with the approved requirement.
Visual inspection alone cannot confirm chemical compatibility with every formula. Where filling-product compatibility, migration or food-contact performance is required, the relevant third-party testing scope should be confirmed before the bulk order.
Changes to the filling product may require another compatibility review even when the bottle specification remains unchanged. Further technical considerations are explained on our internal coating and closure matching page.
Neck, Closure Fit and Leak Testing
The bottle neck and specified closure are inspected as a complete packaging combination. Checks may cover neck diameter, thread profile, sealing surface, cap position, closure engagement and visible deformation after assembly.
Leak testing is performed where applicable to the approved bottle-and-closure combination. The test method should reflect the container structure, closure type and agreed project requirement. A screw-cap bottle, pump bottle and sprayer bottle may require different handling and acceptance criteria.
Leak testing does not replace filling-product compatibility or long-term packaging evaluation. Buyers should complete any required filled-product, transport or shelf-life tests before commercial use.
Printing, Surface and Appearance Inspection
Printed and finished bottles are compared with the approved sample for colour, finish, print clarity, logo position and overall appearance. Inspectors also check for visible scratches, dents, contamination and inconsistent decoration.
Practical appearance tolerances should be agreed before production, especially for matte, gloss, metallic or multi-colour finishes. Digital artwork and screen images are not sufficient references for final colour approval.
Packing and Pre-Shipment Checks
Before shipment, checks cover order quantity, bottle and closure combinations, protective bags or dividers, carton configuration, shipping marks and pallet requirements where applicable.
Protective packing is particularly important for coloured and printed aluminium bottles because bottle-to-bottle contact can cause scratches during transport. Packing arrangements can be developed through our private-label packaging service.
Third-party pre-shipment inspection can be supported when requested in advance. The inspection standard, sampling plan, responsible party and required documents should be confirmed before the inspection date.
